President's Corner

From Richard Shoaf, President

Happy New Year!  As we look forward to 2018 I am excited with the slate of board members.  It is a group of returning and new board members, all experienced professionals to help manage our chapter.  We do have some exciting changes this year with some new speakers, new locations and even a couple of times that seemed to work out last year to better serve our membership.

Any professional association has the challenge of its value proposition.  What value to you as a member in exchange for your investment of coin and time.  The latter is the most valuable to me. We want to hear from you on what is most important to you to become or stay involved.  This year you will see some new locations for our monthly meetings and some returning favorites.  If you have a topic or a speaker you would like to hear or share with our membership please share it with us.

Take a look at our evolving newsletter, Facebook page and twitter account.  We will keep you posted on all three.  The response last year showed that email is still the preferred method of communications for most of you so the newsletter will be moved to a monthly format with occasional flash notices if necessary.

Job postings are more time sensitive and will be posted in our LinkedIn group and Facebook page. Both links will always exist in our newsletter if you forget.  If you're not a member of our LinkedIn group, please ask to join and we will get you in post haste.

If you have an idea to help our section grow or engage, do not hesitate to reach out.  Our board meetings are always open so feel free to join us there as well.

Lastly, get engaged and have fun as our group of professionals in our industry is a valued resource and we are here for you.

President
