And just like that folks we are at year's end!
We'd like to take this section to simply send a sincere thank you to all our fans, family members, artists, and dealers who've stood by us this year despite the challenges we've faced. At times it has been crushing, mentally and physically managing the difficulties that have come our ways, particularly with the CITES issues. However, it's YOUR positive comments & posts, YOUR enthusiasm, YOUR support across the world that has helped us through 2017.

GTR PRODUCTION - KOREA BOUND
At the time of publishing this newsletter we are awaiting our arrival date from the team at WMI for final QC of the Goliath GTRs. We are expecting the date this week and will book our tickets immediately. Unfortunately we've passed the point of having guitars delivered by boat before Xmas so we will be air freighting them in now (at our cost), which means they will arrive much faster to us in Australia and to our distributors.
We are close, ladies and gents. So close!

It's that time of the year again at Ormsby HQ where we are putting together our final batch of guitars to put on show at Winter NAMM 2018. We've been experimenting with some new materials and of course, new models. As you'll see above and below there's definitely a few unique pieces heading over with us to Anaheim, all of which will be available for purchase and for attendees to try out.

We have a great line-up of custom shop Hypemachines, Futuras, Goliaths and SXs, as well as debuting our Genesis, Scarab, and another model or two. Perhaps most importantly we will also have some Goliath GTR models for folks to try out along with some other special GTR models.
You'll have to keep your eyes peeled across our social channels in the coming weeks as we show off more previews of what's to come in 2018 for Ormsby Guitars.

A DECADE OF MULTISCALE - THE 8 MESHUGGAH 8 STRING
Shortly after finishing off the first SX multiscale this 8 string was created on the advice of a friend at the time who was quite a big fan of Meshuggah and a recent convert myself from the Obzen album. Did we dream of having them become Ormsby players? Like any hopeful guitar brand, absolutely! However at the time of meeting them they'd recently signed on with Ibanez. No biggy!

One of the biggest challenges faced when building this was hardware and pickup choices. We'd fortunately been able to get some custom hardware designed with a European manufacturer that was far more functional than our original single saddles, however having a pickup that was big enough for an 8 string multiscale was still problematic. Thankfully, EMG had just released the 808 pickup and we paid a small fortune to have 1 air-freighted to Perth, Australia in time.

The guitar came together quite easily, featuring a swamp ash body, rock maple neck, ziricote fretboard with splayed scalloping, bone nut, kill-switch, and Gotoh tuners.

We are very pleased and excited to welcome Sophie Burrell of Saints of Sin (UK) to the growing Ormsby family and artist roster. As our youngest and first female artist to come on board it is a privilege to have a player of her skills join us and represent Ormsby across the world. Whilst Sophie's chosen model comes to life we've let her take loan of Mat's custom shop copper Hypemachine for her to get acquainted with.
