This Week on the Field

This will be a very short update to just let you know that we have survived this really hard week of sickness. All of the big kids and adults in the Malone home have been really sick or are just getting sick. It's some kind of flu or really bad respiratory infection. We are so grateful that one of our co-laborers here in Ukraine who lives next door is a nurse (she's also American) and has access to American medication in limited quantities. She, too, has been sick, but she was willing to help nurse us back to health. I (Chris), as is often the case, ended up with pneumonia or really bad bronchitis. I'm at the end of it, but it's been a very hard several days. Mary is mostly better. Seth is just getting sick. Bethany is okay, but it's lingering. Mom (Loretta) is over the worst of it and just waiting for some energy to return.

Ministry, for the most part, has continued. We did cancel Friday night Bible study, simply because I was just not up to it and we also were not sure about having people come into the home where the black plaque is alive.  I jest, of course, but it has been a hard week. Laugh or cry, right?

Mary wanted to write up some thoughts for you today about what's going on in the ministry here from her perspective. Unfortunately, it just couldn't happen today. She will have it ready to send out to you next Monday.

We are so thankful for your consistent prayer. It really DOES make the difference. Please continue to pray. Pray, especially, for our health and that we can beat this terrible bug and that none of the little kids (who are anything but little anymore) get it. Every time one of them coughs or sniffles we get a little worried.

We are so blessed to be able to serve here and we know that it is because of many of you that we can. We are grateful.
Would you pray and consider making a year-end gift to help us make up the shortfall in our current support and get us started in the new year? We thank you!
