The Best Year of School
This year has been the best year at school.  I have been to three schools and this has been the best.  No wonder my uncles and Mum loved this school!!!  It has nice teachers, awesome friends and is  very good qualilty.  I also think I have the best teacher in the world!!! I hope I get to come here again.
A Letter Received from Nuriya, 6 years old
Recipient of one of Room 2 Tu Pono Certificate this year.
She is in Germany vising grandparents for Christmas.

Dear Room 2
Thank you for all  your wonderful letters.  It is definitely winter here.  In the house it is warm, but outside it is cold.  I sometimes get cold.  My parents get cold too.  I like it at my grandparents' house.  The first plane wasn't that good, but the second one was good.  The two airports were very big.  I saw hundreds of planes.  I am happy here, but I miss you all very much.  My new school is good.
We don't have a fire, but central heating.  It snowed once, but it melted .  It feels strange to be away from my school.  I am having a good time in the winter.  It was seven degrees today.  Last Sunday, it was minus one.  My grandparents are good.  Their names are Christa and Werner.  It's great to hear that you are going swimming.  I went to school today and then baked Christmas cookies with my big cousin.  I couldn't read Rylan's letter.  I have new friends at my new school.  I went to a Christmas market in the dark.  It gets dark at 4 o'clock.  There were four Santas playing Christmas songs on bugles.
We had sport at school today.  Nikolas put some goodies in my winter boots.  He does this if you shine your boots and put them out over night, and a carrot for his horse.
I miss you all soooooooo much and look forward to seeing you all next year.
Merry Christmas and  a Happy New Year.

Kia ora koutou
Wow, what a super busy term! The weather is getting hot, and the school holidays are upon us.  Over the last few weeks in Kiwi Can we have followed on from our responsibility module to how we can be reliable.  Understanding why it is important to be a reliable student, friend and family member.  We set up challenges for the tamariki to work in groups and as a whole class to demonstrate and practice being reliable.  For some of our students this was trickier than they thought.
At home let your children know when they are being reliable as sometimes they don't even realise they are doing it.

Our Kiwi Canners for Term Four are:
Room Eight - Kalani, Room Seven - Katie, Room Five - Layke, Room Four - Alyssa, Room Three - Syriah, Room Two - Rylan and room One  Toby-John.

A message to all our Kiwi Can tamariki, 'Be Great, Be Awesome, Be You!'
The Kiwi Can team, Marlene, Gemma, Jasmine and Emma, would like to wish you and your whanau a Meri Kirihimete and a wonderful safe New Year.
