Science and Open PHACTS

Dear <<First Name>>,

Open PHACTS and Big Data Europe would like to invite you to our online panel discussion about managing updates to public databases, coming up later this month.

Webinar: Updating public databases: Automation and other challenges
Date: Monday, 18 December, 2017
Time: 14:00 GMT / 15:00 CET
Registration: Free - register now online

As you are no doubt aware, keeping databases up-to-date is a significant challenge with the rate at which many data sources are growing. The aim of this webinar will be to hold an open, informal discussion around keeping databases updated – from user needs, to the challenges of automation, to potential technical approaches underpinning key data sources.

Joining our panel will be representatives of major science data infrastructures, including Dr Evan Bolton, who manages the PubChem project at NCBI, and Professor Chris Evelo, Co-Founder and Director at WikiPathways.

The discussion will be hosted by the Big Data Europe Horizon 2020 project, and broadcast live as a free webinar.  Join us to contribute your own questions and comments to the discussion; we are interested in hearing from anyone who uses or manages scientific databases, and ultimately we hope that we can all benefit from sharing insights, experiences and ideas in this area.

If you've missed any of our previous webinars, you can find full recordings on our YouTube channel, and slides on SlideShareAs always, we welcome your feedback or comments at any time.

All the best,

Nick Lynch
