Jones von Jonestein is a self-trained artist who was born in 1974 in New England to a family of British immigrants. He is currently the Ceramics Department Head at A.R.T.S, A Reason to Survive, in National City, CA. He has been exhibiting nationally since 2006 and has travelled extensively documenting cityscapes and most recently, as a resident artist at the International Ceramics Studio in Kesckemet, Hungary.

Jones’ work aims to explore the various tropes associated with familial and personal identity. For the past decade, Jones has been working on a large body of work, entitled, The von Jonestein Heritage Foundation, which populates a fictitious lineage through the creation of historically appropriate relics, staged photographs and performances.
