International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women's Day on 8 March, The Haven hosted Empower-Arte, a day to celebrate all things female!

From uplifting speeches, to songs about female empowerment, the day of events saw Haven staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and supporters come together in celebration.

Meet our Chairs of The Board

In April 2017 The Haven welcomed new two new Co-Chairs of the Board of Trustees. Stephanie Harris and Andrea Spence-Ferguson have been supporting The Haven in their role as Co-Chairs for twelve months now; find out more about them and their motivations behind supporting The Haven Wolverhampton.
Empurple Week

Empurple Week has once again surpassed our expectations with so many of you getting creative and going purple to raise vital funds and awareness for the women and children at The Haven. From purple themed afternoon tea, to dress down days at work, your support this March has been incredible. This year’s appeal also saw so many of you don a Haven purple ribbon and tweet your messages of hope to women supported by The Haven. Empurple Week was topped off with our Masquerade Ball that raised £5,000 – thank you so much to all of those who attended!

Why stop there? We have lots of activities coming up including quiz nights, The Summer Solstice Skydive, Break The Silence Coffee Morning and our 3 Peaks Challenge. Find out more on our Facebook page.
Children in Need

The Haven's children's service in refuge works with children and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse. This month you can read about Sammy and her brother Matt's story, as they take their journey towards a brighter, happier future.

Supporting their local community

This month, The Haven was lucky enough to receive a generous donation from the Staffordshire Freemasons. The grant of £5,000 will help continue the vital services offered to women and children affected by domestic abuse at The Haven.

The grant from Staffordshire Freemasons comes through the Masonic Charitable Foundation which is funded by Freemasons, their families and friends.

The Freemasons have a long history of supporting charitable causes, and their donation this year will go a long way to helping women and children leave abuse behind for good.
New Training Courses Added

This year The Haven have added three new courses: Rape and Sexual ViolenceStalking and Harassment and the Domestic Violence Perpetrator programme (What does a successful outcome look like?).

Visit our booking page to find out what training is coming up and to book your place today.
Living Wage Awards Shortlist

The Haven Wolverhampton has been shortlisted by the Living Wage Foundation for the Living Wage Champion Awards 2018.

The awards recognises Living Wage employers and individuals that have made great contributions to communities and industries by implementing and celebrating the Living Wage.

Mamma Mia, Loo've got to be joking!

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre have helped spread the message of support available to women and children affected by domestic abuse and homelessness across the City.

During their recent run of the hit show Mamma Mia, the theatre promoted the support offered by The Haven through posters on the back of their toilet doors, reaching over 5,000 women.

We are committed to making sure as many people know about the support available to those affected by domestic abuse and homelessness as possible, and with the help of our partners like Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, we can ensure this message reaches even further.
