Development Manager

South Bronx United seeks a Development Manager to focus on increasing funding for the organization in order to help sustain and expand its impact. The Development Manager will work collaboratively with the Executive Director and program staff owning every aspect of South Bronx United’s fundraising operations. This includes database management, preparation and coordination of donor communications and solicitations, gift processing, grant writing, and prospect research. Assistant Director of Education Programs

South Bronx United seeks an Assistant Director of Education Programs to help the organization meet the academic needs of approximately 170 SBU Academy youth, ages 12-19, with a focus on high school. Nearly all participants are from immigrant families, about 40 percent were born abroad, and approximately one-third are English Language Learners. 100 percent of seniors in the program go on to graduate high school and 94 percent will enroll in college.

This position will work collaboratively with program staff, coach-mentors, and volunteers to achieve the organization’s mission and impact youth outcomes. Responsibilities include assisting in the development and implementation of academic curriculum; advising and managing academic supports for 70-90 students in 9th-11th grades; supporting students with high school applications and the transition to high school; training and supervising tutors, coach-mentors, and summer program teachers; and coordinating special projects, events, and partnerships. The ideal candidate should have two years of experience in teaching, youth development, or education program management.  Read the full Job Description.
 


Community Soccer Programs Coordinator (PT)

South Bronx United seeks a part-time Community Soccer Coordinator to coordinate recreational and after school soccer programming in the South Bronx. The core responsibilities include supervising programming, staff, and volunteers on-site; delivering after school soccer programs for elementary and middle school age students; and assisting the Director of Operations and Director of Soccer Programs with administrative tasks and youth registration. The candidate must be able to work weekends and after-school hours for approximately 20 hours per week. Spanish proficiency is highly preferred.  Read the full Job Description.
 

Girls Coach-Mentor (PT)

South Bronx United is seeking an energetic individual with a passion for youth development and soccer to serve as the Mentor and head soccer coach for a diverse team of girls within the SBU Academy Program. As a mentor, the individual serves as the first point of contact for any issues regarding SBU student athletes on the team and as a positive influence promoting education, character, and community. As a coach, the individual will run twice-weekly soccer trainings and coach the team at weekend games. The coach will have the goal of keeping youth active, instilling fun, and helping youth grow as both athletes and students.  This is a part time position requiring approximately 8-12 hours/week during the fall and spring seasons and approximately 4 hours per week between January and mid-March. Read the full Job Description.
