At this time of year many of us are looking for ways we can do our bit to help support those struggling in our community. With so many requests for help around, we know it can be hard to know where to start.
A simple and easy way you can help support people in crisis this Christmas is to join in with the annual Tesco Food Collection. Returning this weekend, the collection will take place in Tesco Metro, Extra and Superstores all over the country from 30th November to 2nd December. This partnership supports The Trussell Trust, as well as FareShare, collect the much needed food and supplies that will keep our network of foodbanks running over the festive period.
To support the collection just visit your nearest Tesco store from tomorrow, and whilst you are doing your shop pop an extra item or two in your trolley. When you’re finished just drop off your items at the collection points in store. Volunteers will be on hand to help and answer any questions, and if you are in need of inspiration, you can even pick up a shopping list detailing the items your local foodbank is in need of most.
We know the festive period is busy for everyone, but sadly this is also true for our network of foodbanks. By supporting the collection you will be helping provide much needed supplies to people struggling to put food on the table this Christmas.
