The University of Arizona is part of a multicampus program awarded a five-year U.S. Department of Transportation grant -- expected to be worth up to $15.6 million -- to help transform research, education and outreach related to the nation's pressing transportation issues.
SIE has had an exceptional year!

As we head into the holiday season and toward 2018, please take a few minutes to read about some of our accomplishments.
We are honored to welcome Changxu "Sean" Wu and Matthias Poloczek, who will each bring a wealth of diverse experience to the SIE family in 2017.
Connected and automated vehicles expert Larry Head is a man of many titles: professor of systems and industrial engineering, director of the UA Transportation Research Institute, and member of the state's Self-Driving Vehicle Oversight Committee, to name just some.
SIE associate professor Ricardo Valerdi has, over the last year, brought home myriad honors and accomplishments.
Science Foundation Arizona recently announced that Jianqiang Cheng, SIE assistant professor of systems and industrial engineering, is one of its 2017 SFAz Bisgrove Scholars Awards recipients.
A new report by Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that the cybercrime epidemic will triple the number of cybersecurity positions over the next five years.
