Humber River Hospital's Command Centre is Now Open!

This morning Humber River Hospital opened its first-in-Canada Hospital Command Centre, a state of the art, data-driven ‘mission control’ that will improve patient flow and allow us to serve 4,000 more patients per year!

How You're Helping Humber Surgeons Perform First-In-Canada Surgeries.

This month, Humber surgeons Dr. Steven MacLellan and Dr. Jensen Tan, performed Canada’s FIRST Ventral Hernia Repair and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction using the da Vinci Surgical Robot!

The robot enables Dr. MacLellan and Dr. Tan to perform complex abdominal wall procedures, with a smaller risk of wound complications, less pain for the patient, and a shorter hospital stay for patients.

Because of You, Abby's Future is Bright!

When her father died, Abby’s grief became a burden she could no longer bear alone. That’s when her therapist recommended Humber River Hospital’s Child & Adolescent Mental Health Program. Fast forward 2 years and Abby was invited to address a room full of Humber supporters, before catching a flight to England for her new job as an au pair! Congratulations, Abby!

WATCH: We Announce Alex Christofides as our 2017 Humber Hero!

Alex is a Child Life Specialist who makes a difference for our paediatric patients every single day through the Hug and Hold Program. Alex makes surgery less scary, by showing the kids and their parents what will happen using a medical teaching kit. The parents are invited into the operating room to be there as their child falls asleep. Alex has been leading the program since she proposed it in 1998.
