Federal Tax Bills - Learn More

Watch our webinar recording with Ali Mickelson of the Colorado Fiscal Institute on the full run-down here.   Want to understand more? Watch these quick videos on how our individual income tax system currently works-- click here-  as compared to the proposed corporate income taxing system - click here. Thanks to Colorado Fiscal Institute for suggesting these; find more info at http://www.coloradofiscal.org/

As we learned in our tax bill overview webinar held on November 21, one controversial proposal for Colorado is the increase in the standard deduction and resulting predicted decline in the number of people who are motivated to make charitable deductions based on tax deductibility. Find out with the Colorado Non-Profit Association thinks about this here.

The Gilded Years: A Novel   Karin Tanabe (@karintanabe)

When: January 11, 2018
Register for the webinar

From an early age Anita Hemmings longed to attend Vassar College. But she is hiding a secret, and it’s one that may compromise her dream: She is African-American. With her light skin, Anita succeeds in passing as white and matriculating at Vassar, where she finds herself living with Lottie Taylor, the daughter of one of New York’s most prominent families. Pulling a reclusive Anita out of her shell, Lottie inadvertently puts her friend’s greatest secret at risk. A fictionalized account of the life of the first African American woman to graduate from Vassar College, The Gilded Years is a moving story of how one woman risked it all for the chance at a better life.
