Holiday greetings from the Neighbour Day team

In this edition we're asking you to step up and help spread a little more kindness, cheer and conversation by participating in the R U OK? Holiday Helper 12 Day Challenge.

We are also interested in your experiences of social connection via on online survey; and we share a very neighbourly opportunity to help connect 10,000 dinner guests in 2018.

The Neighbour Day team thank you for your awesome support this year, and wish you a safe and happy holiday. We look forward to seeing you in 2018 for an even bigger celebration of community!

12 Day Challenge

Christmas is less than 12 days away! For many of us, Christmas is a time for friends, family, food and more food.

But for many, Christmas can be a particularly isolating and lonely time. The pain of losing loved ones - or being estranged or away from family - can become even greater when surrounded by so much talk and plans for family holidays and gatherings.

That’s why, in the 12 days, leading up to Christmas we're calling you to step up as an
R U OK? Holiday Helper and spread a little more cheer, kindness and conversation.

Taking part is simple - each day you'll complete a single challenge that's designed to connect you with others, lend an ear and give back to the community.

Social Connection Survey

You may know that Relationships Australia is the home of Neighbour Day. But did you know that each month we do an online survey?

The December survey asks a few questions about social connection. If you have a spare minute these holidays, it is very quick to complete and we would appreciate your thoughts.

#WelcomeYourWay

This holiday season, our friends at The Welcome Dinner Project are inviting you to help raise the funds needed to connect 10,000 dinner guests in 2018.

It’s easy to do and very neighbourly!

You can jump on board until the end of January 2018 and host a fun event of your choice in the comfort of your own home or workplace. See just a few ideas below and click #WelcomeYourWay button for more information.

The Welcome Dinner Project (WDP) enables newly arrived people and established Australians to meet over dinner in the comfort of a local host's home.
