2017 has been a milestone year for financial planning with the biggest changes to superannuation announced in this year’s federal budget. It has also been a terrific second year for Elliot Watson Financial Planning. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful clients for their remarkable support. | Insurance Claims and Support |

| This year Elliot Watson Financial Planning had a few clients who needed to make claims against their insurance. We would like to advise clients that we are here to help with any insurance claims that you have, and we should be your first point of contact. The steps involved in making a claim should be: |

- Call Elliot or the NFPG admin team and him of your need to claim.
- We will then put you in contact with Stacey Jones from our support team. Stacey is our claims expert and liaison.
- Stacey will support you to collate all relevant paperwork.
- Stacey will then liaise with the insurer on your behalf.

| Insurance claims are generally required at quite stressful points in client’s lives. There is data that suggests a claim will be processed much quicker when done through an adviser’s office then directly with the insurer. We are here to support and take some of the pain out of the process. |

| The RBA recently announced that interest rates will stay at 1.5%. This is the 14th time rates have been held at this historical low. But do not get complacent. Interest rates are set to increase. It is just a matter of time. |

| Last week Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced that there would be a Royal Commission into the banking sector. |

On a personal note, since their engagement party, Elliot and Karyn have been working on their kitchen renovation. This has been three long years in the making and has taken many months to complete. There have been lots of BBQs, takeaway and microwave meals over the last few months whilst the old kitchen was demolished and the new one installed. Whilst their focus has been on the renovation, wedding planning has been on the back burner but will be their focus in the new year.
