December's Specials at Bib N' Tucker Quilting

All of us at Bib n’ Tucker would like to wish all of you all the best for the upcoming holiday season.  May you get everything done that you planned to - and if you didn’t, well,  remember the season will roll around again next year!

My plans for the season are pretty limited (yeah).  My daughter cooks a family dinner Christmas Eve- she usually asks her Dad to make an apple pie.  She might request orange meringue cookies and those are up to me.  More of those cookies for my son and then fast forward to New Years Day dinner with school friends (  Soooo long ago).  My contribution will be green salad, more of those cookies and a simple orange dessert.
And that will be as much kitchen time as I care to have!

Last year was the first year that I pretty much gave up making all the treats that I used to make - penuche fudge, butter tarts, nuts and bolts, shortbread, etc.  There was a little flack but I offered up the recipes and there were no takers!

I need to buy myself a large jigsaw puzzle and then I am set to enjoy my days off.

Hope you all get to enjoy your family, friends , down time (or up time if you prefer).
Thought you might like to see a collage type tree my Mom made years ago.  Long before she moved to my brother’s house (to be cared for by care givers) she was giving up things and I claimed this.  It is appliqued to tulle - you can see from the close up what she has used- fabrics of all types to get lots of the right colours and textures.

I figure I should fasten on all those orphan earrings as decorations and carry on the tradition of ‘hanging’ a tree.  Merry Christmas all!
