Portland State University has received a grant from National Science Foundation to make computer science accessible to all high school students.

The REACH HIGHER NPSI for school districts seeks to support a vision of helping every student reach for an education beyond high school, including 2 and 4-year college enrollment or a professional credential. This inaugural event will be held in Chicago, Illinois from April 8 – 10, 2018 at the DePaul University Loop

Affording Degree Completion: A Study of Completion Grants at Accessible Public Universities

This project will refine and evaluate “completion grants,” a form of financial aid that some postsecondary institutions provide to students who are close to completing their degrees yet at risk of departure from college due to insufficient funding to cover their tuition and student fees.

At the USU summer meeting, we partnered with APLU’s Council on Engagement and Outreach, to dig deep into the topics of resiliency and partnerships. From that meeting, we developed two checklists to help institutions strengthen their resiliency.  Our second checklist, below, compiles strategies and tactics to strengthen university-neighborhood partnerships.
