EVENT: 11th Anniversary Celebration at Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery
Bookstore Event! Saturday, December 9th

Time flies when you’re having fun! Join us at Fantagraphics Bookstore to celebrate our 11th anniversary with an evening of comix, music, and more on Saturday, December 9th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Festivities will include guest appearances by Charles ForsmanDame Darcy, and Frank Young, as well as an exhibition of prints by Charles Burns and Jaime Hernandez (not attending) from their recently released Fantagraphics Studio Editions.

Charles Forsman returns to the bookstore to sign copies of his newest graphic novel, I Am Not Okay with This. This book continues Charles's examination of adolescent alienation with his signature deadpan delivery. He’ll also show a clip from the forthcoming Netflix series, The End of the Fucking World, based on his previous graphic novel of the same name, recently reissued by Fantagraphics Books.

Multifaceted artist Dame Darcy will perform a set of enchanting music and read excerpts from her hilarious upcoming memoir. She’ll also sign copies of the Meat Cake Bible anthology.

And writer Frank Young presents To Laugh That We May Not Weep, a comprehensive collection of early 20th century political cartoonist and activist Art Young. With essays by Art SpieglemanJustin Green, and Glenn Bray, the book documents the life and times of this important, but often-overlooked artist.

Our anniversary coincides with the festive holiday edition of the Georgetown Art Attack featuring lively visual and performing arts presentations throughout the historic district. Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery is located at 1201 S. Vale Street, just minutes south of downtown Seattle. Open daily 11:30 to 8:00 PM, Sundays until 5:00 PM. Phone 206-557-4910.
