Health and Prosperity Newsletter December 2017

December is the month for sharing, giving, and creativity.

It’s been a great year full of ups and down, challenges and successes, laughter and tears. As we near the end of the year, it’s a great time to connect before we get busy with holiday preparations, celebrations, giving, and sharing.

Challenges come in many forms from challenging ourselves to strive toward the success we want to health challenges, business challenges, and even the challenge of feeling overwhelmed with great ideas and projects. How many of these have you experienced this year? I feel like I have been through them all.
A Dance With Three Partners
This year the United States saw a partial to almost total eclipse of the sun. An article in Science Daily, says, "A total eclipse is a dance with three partners: the moon, the sun and Earth." Richard Vondrak, a lunar scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland said, "It can only happen when there is an exquisite alignment of the moon and the sun in our sky." This quote made me think about how we have a dance with ourselves; the heart, the mind, the body. There are times when one part of ourselves overshadows another part, but rather than feeling like we are out of alignment, maybe one part just needs more attention than another. Read more...

The Big Leap
This was the first year I challenged myself with National Novel Writing Month. I wrote almost everyday on my novel and finished 10,067 words. I connected with writing buddies I hadn't seen in years. It was very fun and motivating. The NaNoWriMo goal is to write a 50,000-word novel in a month. I was always intimidated by such a lofty goal even though I know stretching to reach a goal, whether I meet it or not, stretches my muscles and takes me farther than I would otherwise go. Read more on Stretching Your Goals.

I was motivated to write more in one month on my novel than I had all year. I was so pleased that I started the “Inspiring Writing Group” on Linkedin modeled after a writing group I’ve been facilitating in my neighborhood for the last two years. If you want inspiration to write, share your writing, and get positive comments, then read the rules and make a request to join the “Inspiring Writing group.”
A Time For Giving
In December we often turn our minds to giving. My heart goes out to the work of The League of Heroes Inspired, a nonprofit group who visit traumatized children in the hospital while wearing Super Hero costumes to inspire them to feel empowered. As a child, I had many eye surgeries; some went better than others. In the early years, I couldn’t see after surgery for sometimes over a week––it was scary for a young child. When we experience our own challenges, we are more motivated to help others with similar challenges. What challenges have you faced that motivate you to give to others?

Have a wonderful end of the year full of joy wherever you find it.

With Love and Happiness,
Nancy
