Christmas Starts Today…

Happy Holidays one and all! It's been a busy year here at Dave Rowe Music Central! The first snow of the season is falling here and Santa's elves have been very busy—ah—err…. Okay, I'll cut the bull. I spent the summer on my boat. The whole summer, floating, cruising, swimming, entertaining wonderful guests on the waves, cleaning (yeah, if you have a boat, about 3/4 of your time aboard is spent cleaning, but somehow it's fun), anchoring in beautiful locations for unbelievable sunsets, and of course playing some fun gigs. The boat went in on May 19 and came out on October 10. I'm hoping to be floating in April next year. :) Of course, if you want to follow the goings-on on the high seas—well, high lake—I post about it on Facebook, so log in and send me a friend request.

Since the boat's been out, I've been busying myself with all of the home projects I neglected all summer (and last summer). I am in the process of setting up a pared-down version of my recording studio again. I'm thinking there may be an album project in my future. Not sure what will be on it, or what direction it might take, but starting to think about it. Any ideas? I'm considering not releasing it as a CD, but instead doing some sort of electronic distribution over the interwebs. What do you think?

Speaking of recordings, I'd like to share one with you. I recorded an instrumental Christmas project a few years ago, and I've never sold it, but you are welcome to download, share, and enjoy. Click here to download the tunes.

Above, when I mentioned that "Christmas Starts Today," I wasn't really kidding. My first holiday concert of the season with Denny Breau and Phil House is this evening in Farmington, Maine at 7PM at the historic North Church. It may be snowing out, but the roads shouldn't be that bad. Just take it slow and enjoy the show.

Next Saturday night will be the 25th Annual Holiday Concert with Phil and Denny at First Universalist Church of Auburn, Maine. I am so excited to play this one. 25 years ago, my dad had an idea for Phil, he, and I to play a holiday concert. We had no idea at the time we were starting an enduring tradition, but here we are, 25 years on. There have been a few changes through the years but the music brings us together and evokes such wonderful memories.

That's about all the news there is. Keep scrolling down for some fabulous holiday-related videos to share with your friends.

Hope to see you soon!

-Dave
See Dave and Phil doing a sound check before the holiday concert at North Church in Farmington. Hilarity ensues.
Here's a little holiday Longfellow for you….

This is one of those beautiful sunsets. This was in Early October, shortly before the boat was hauled out for the winter.
