Timeless

This time of year, for me, has the Holy Day season, the end of one and the beginning of another calendar year, and my birthday.
This confronts me with the illusion that time is significant.
The spiritual realm is without time or space, and transcends them.
Other words for timeless are eternal and everlasting: never ending.
May we experience that every day is Holy, that the evolution of the sun gives us our rhythm and that while our days here are numbered, our essence is unborn and undying: timeless.

Does he watch a clock?

When my mother was in the last days of her life, her eyesight was failing so that from her bed she couldn't see the small feminine clock she had on her desk. She asked me to get a bigger clock so that she could keep track of time. I bought her a big office clock and made a wooden base so that it could stand on her bedside table. My daughter gave us a small green and gold oriental decal to cover up the Staples logo. See photo below. At first my mother noted the time as her day unfolded. Then over the weeks as her eyesight failed, she gradually let go of her need to see the time; she began to trust her own internal time. I asked her if I should remove the clock. She said, "No. Leave it." She wanted the clock there, but she didn't need to see the time anymore. She was entering the freedom of the timeless realm. Perhaps more of that timeless quality is available to us "now".
