Levenshulme Library
re-opening celebration on Friday 22nd December,
6 - 8pm

You are warmly invited to join us to join the Trustees of Levenshulme Old
Library to celebrate the re-opening of Levenshulme Old Library on 22nd
December as a public space since its closure in 2016. This will take place at the library’s location on Cromwell Grove, Levenshulme.

Music and entertainment

The ceremony will be led by Levenshulme and Gorton South MP Afzal Khan, and
there will be refreshments, music from brass band Jazz Biscuits, performance
from the Levenshulme Players and a silent auction for vintage furniture.

The event will also be an opportunity for those interested to join the library’s
group of supporters, talk to the trustees and to talk about how to use the
library’s facilities in 2018.

Levenshulme Library

The Levenshulme Carnegie Library, opened in 1904, was closed in 2016. It is now re-opening as a multi-purpose art and culture space, run by, and for the local community. With the first tenants already engaged and making arrangements to move into the space, the trustees hope this will provide a central point for cultural activity and community in the neighbourhood.
