Over a year ago, the Welcome Home Coalition’s success in passing the region’s first Affordable Housing Bond was an incredible launch into an era of housing policy that is focused on innovative, creative solutions to get more dollars for housing and now.
In the past year, Portland developed and is now implementing the Bond Framework. Your voice and vote mattered and, because of you, people are going to be housed. Thank you Mayor Ted Wheeler for moving this forward. He just announced plans on the first new Housing Bond development on the former Safari Club site at 3000 SE Powell Blvd. You can stay up to date at: www.portlandhousingbond.com
As we enter 2018, Metro is exploring a possible ballot measure for affordable housing. We are excited about this amazing opportunity to find more money for affordable housing! Thank you to Metro Council for advancing this work. We will keep you up to date. You can read about the effort here:

The Welcome Home Coalition is dedicated to raising awareness about the regional need for affordable housing and partnering with key stakeholders to find sustainable funding solutions. We lead with equity and we strive for approaches that are inclusive of all community members.
The Coalition is strong and a symbol of unity, community power and the courage to be innovative. The work you all do every day to support a community response to tackling our housing crisis takes immense compassion and tremendous dedication. We are grateful for you.
