New Products + Maintenance Tips + Holiday Hours

Hi all,

It's been an abnormally busy couple of months at Harvest - while we would usually be winding down for the year we have had a steady stream of work, off the back of our spring rush. Our Tech Support team has been especially overloaded so we do apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused over this very busy time.

In this time we've also welcomed Jay King to the Tech Support team (replacing Marian) and Kayne Lane who is working alongside Tech Support and Production as Warranty and Repairs Coordinator. Amy Rogers has also joined us as Accounts and Sales Admin to replace Amy Munn.

New Product Development

Mid Level Rain Gauge
Many have expressed interest in a rain gauge that is a step up in build quality and accuracy from the entry level Davis version. We have been trying numerous rain gauges and have settled on a new design. In the new year we expect to have more information available about how it compares to the Davis and met/industrial grade Hydrological Services TB6. Estimated release: 1st quarter 2018.
Short Range Remote (SRR) v3
The new SRR (prototype stage) will incorporate a change from Lithium to user replaceable Alkaline D Cells and a slight boost to the typical max range. Estimated release: 2nd quarter 2018.

Maintenance Tip

Versions of our combined Temperature and Humidity (TH) sensors sold prior to Jan 2015 have an expected life span of 2 years, while the newer version has an expected lifespan of 5+ years. Incorrect humidity readings will affect Dew Point, Wet Bulb, and Evapotranspiration calculations so please call us if your humidity readings seem high or unreliable (i.e. intermittent or over 80% on a hot, dry day).
