Hi <<First Name>>,
It’s been a month with mixed feelings in Pointnineland. While we’re thrilled to officially welcome Ricarda to the team, two Point Nine superheroes, Karolin and Savina, are flying away for new adventures. We’re sad to see them go, but we’re thankful for their excellent work in the last years and know that they’ll continue to use their superpowers for good causes.
This means we’re officially looking for two new additions to our team of supervillains:
1.) A Team Assistant
2.) An Associate
If you know any amazing candidates for one of these roles (who don’t mind attending meetings barefoot) it would be GREAT if you could let us know. (Bonus karma points for superwomen female candidates who bring us closer to gender balance.)
PORTFOLIO
-
We’ll start our portfolio roundup with a huge congratulation to Verena Hubertz and Mengting Gao, the two Wonder Women co-founders of Kitchen Stories, who just landed a majority investment from BHS. The Kitchen Stories app has attracted several million users in more than 150 countries already, and with the support of Bosch (the guys behind the acronym in the last sentence), even more people will experience a whole new world of cooking. Well done, Verena and Mengting, we’re thankful that we’ve had the chance to be a (small) part of this great success story made in Berlin. 🎉🍾

An impressive lineup of super investors (General Catalyst, Benchmark, and Balderton) teamed up for a dope $28M Series C at Contentful. 😮 😮 Welcome on board, Trevor!
-
Sebastian Diemer is faster than Flash! It’s barely a year since we announced our investment in his latest startup, and our superhero has already changed the name of the company (Hi Finiata!), grown the customer base to more than 5000 and raised $18M! 🚀
-
Kudos to ChartMogul, which raised a sweet $2.2M Series A from our longtime friends Alven Capital.
-
Kisi Kong was named a “Top physical security management vendor” by CIO Review. No wonder for an 800 pounds Gorilla.
- Another pretty good month for the #p9family on Product Hunt, as Unbounce’s landing page analyzer got more than 1300 upvotes. (see below for more PH action)
FROM OUR BLOGS & OTHER NEWS

In November Christoph was all over the place with his “SuperheroFounder Salary Calculator”: on Product Hunt, Hacker News, and his blog.
-
He also did two guest appearances on SaaStock’s YouTube Channel, one to discuss Product and Marketing with Des Traynor (of Intercom) and the other on their blog to reveal some of his secrets to create a financial plan that excites VCs (and conquer the world).
-
And our “content mutant” even found some time to blog about how to get feedback from your board and another one about how public SaaS companies report churn and what you can learn from them.
-
Fresh from a trip to Token Summit in SF, Lex Luthor Chudzinski shared his krypto-notes on Medium.
-
Shortly before that, he was MC’ing our annual Marketplace portfolio meetup. You can check his pictures on his highly visual post.
-
From the secret location of his Batcave, Rodrigo wrote “The Hidden Roadmap”.
-
He also reviewed the predictions he did in early 2017. This man can see the future.
-
Before leaving us, our supergirl Savina put the final touch to her “Voice Tech Series” with part 2 and part 3.
-
In case you didn’t know yet, there’s a new Ventureman in town! Welcome Nathan!
