Machine Wilderness at Transmediale
Machine Wilderness was invited to Transmediale Festival in Berlin in February to join in a panel discussion and to host a workshop.
The research group for the design of information systems (DESIGN) at the University of Oslo (UiO) invited European artists and designers for a 2-day workshop in April on 'The Cultures of Machine Participation’. Theun presented Machine Wilderness.
Migaa organized a 10 day workshop at Nida Art Colony in Lithuania inspired by Machine Wilderness themes called 'Ecological Robotics, Biopolitics and Creative Practice'. Theun participated and shared his Machine Wilderness research.
Independent curator Roland Fischer and Artistic Director Paolo Rosso of MicroClima invited Theun Karelse, Alice Smits and Ivan Henriques in October for a presentation of their work, to explore the possibility of collaboration and the potential of the Venetian Lagoon for Machine Wilderness field-work.
Master students of the art academy and hacklab members joined forces atPingbasein Nantes for a two day Machine Wilderness workshop in December in a former quarry in the city. Teams will be working on some prototypes in the coming period.
