A message from the Bath BID

Thursday 21st December is the final evening of this year’s celebration of all things Victorian in Northumberland Place, and The Corridor. We can guarantee a White Christmas if you would like to join us for a Dickensian Evening  full of Christmas magic, surprising characters and seasonal music. This is an event for all ages on December 21st December. While you are visiting, don’t miss out on the chance to win our amazing £700 Luxury Hamper which is on display in Union Passage.

Please note: The Bath BID Office will close on Christmas, Boxing and New year’s Day this year. The BID rangers will be working hard to maintain the welcome in the city as usual during the rest of the festive season.

For the new year we are developing a programme of business workshops, starting with Richard Knight of consumer specialists Shopper Anonymous who will present his findings from a recent mystery shopping exercise in the city.  If you have wondered about participating, this is a great opportunity to find out how it works. The session will also cover sales techniques which can be applied to any business, responding to what your customers need. Find out more about the event here.

You may also have heard about the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the news. All businesses need to make sure that they are completely up to date with the new requirements by May 2018. The penalties for failing to have your data and mailing lists in order are significant and represent a financial risk to your business.  We want to make it easy for BID levy payers to find out what they need to do, hence this workshop session in February.

Making the most of government funding available to businesses to improve their connectivity will be on the agenda for January’s Gigabit Scheme information Event, at the Apex Hotel. I will be attending and would encourage Bath BID Businesses to make the most of this opportunity (see below for a discount code for BID levy payers).

Keeping the magic of Christmas alive for the city after the market has gone, an event for all ages Thursday 7th December.

Join us for a traditional celebration inspired by one of Bath’s famous residents; and step back in time to a Dickensian Christmas.

We are looking forward to some very enjoyable Christmas shopping in this unspoilt historic pedestrian area of the city which will come to life with costumed characters, singing and music and delicious festive treats. And you may even see the first signs of snow...

=Tears For Fears with Alison Moyet, and Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters will headline the Bath Festival Finale Weekend at the Rec.

The Finale weekend takes place 26th and 27th of May 2018 and will also include Family activities, Busking bandstand, Big Top Stage, Poets Corner and Roaming entertainment.
