Donate by December 31st and help DAFT celebrate its 50th year!  Mark your calendars for April 28th at the DIA's fabulous Detroit Film Theatre as DAFT celebrates the 50th Michigan Student Film Festival--recognized by the American Film Institute as the longest running student film festival in the country.

Donate by December 31st for your contribution to be deductible!
DAFT's four partnership colleges offer wonderful scholarship opportunities to DAFT member schools and DAFT student members.  By January 15th, students can enter a sample of their work along with a short writing sample indicating their interest in University of Detroit Mercy, Lawrence Technological University, the Motion Picture Institute and Specs Howard School of Media Arts.  Click here for the form and more information.
Calling all artists!  DAFT is once again offering a $200 cash prize for the designer of the poster and program for our golden anniversary festival.  For requirements and an easy entry-form, click hereDeadline is January 26th!
By January 30th, you can nominate a media Educator of the Year to be honored at the Michigan Student Film Festival and at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival in Kalamazoo in May.  For more information, including past recipients, click here.

On Friday December 1st, educators and media pros met at MPI in Troy for the fifth Media Teacher Symposium. The following Friday, December 8th, students networked with one another, shared their projects and learned from the pros at the Media Student Symposium.
