Farewell 2017, Hello 2018

I hope you had the most wonderful holiday season and are gearing up for your best year yet. 2017, by all accounts, presented some great opportunities for Gordon Fischer Law Firm. First and foremost, I'm always eternally grateful for my clients ranging from families to farmers, small business owners to nonprofit leaders. They are what make my practice worthwhile. It's also been a successful year for the GoFisch blog. Now that the chaos of holidays are behind us, take some time to catch up on the "25 Days of Giving" series. If you're a regular reader, thank you. If you're new to the blog, welcome! 

No one can anticipate what the year ahead will hold. In fact, we'll most certainly need to work together to navigate the challenges and changes federal policy presents to Iowa nonprofits and their donors. But, if 2017 is any indication, we can expect great things in 2018.

Nonprofit leaders, as you know, 2017 is almost over, but your fundraising isn't. This is mission critical time for year-end donations! Read on for last minute fundraising tips

  • The last 1/4 of the year accounts for donations equal to those raised the other 9 months of the year.
  • 33% of donations made in December occur on the 31st of the month.
  • 12% of all giving happens in the last 3 days of the year….talk about last-minute donors!
