Flu Update: Mask Required for Unvaccinated Health Care Workers

As of Dec. 13, 2017, the New York State Department of Health has declared that influenza is prevalent in New York State and requires that all health care workers in hospital facilities who have not been vaccinated against the influenza virus must wear a surgical mask. All Columbia University employees who enter or work in NYP space and most FPO practice sites must comply with this requirement.

Employees may still receive the flu vaccine free of charge on weekdays (except holidays) at two locations:

  • Harkness Pavilion, Room 112, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Milstein Hospital, first floor lobby, 7:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.
