Thank you for your support in 2017
Through giving your time, support or a donation, you really have made a difference. Our projects are going from strength to strength, changing lives and creating sustainable livelihoods in Africa.  Several project managers have recently returned from visiting their projects:
John and Mary Home recently visited, the Chepetbo Rural Development Centre in Kerio Valley, Kenya. John Kibui has kindly agreed to take over the work previously done by David Njuguna who sadly died in September. John and Mary introduced John Kibui to the staff, helped with setting up of an excellent new training apiary and gave help in creating value addition products as a business. We are very grateful to the Wax Chandlers who kindly donated £1450 to develop the beekeeping training course to support our work here.
Julian Willford has returned from Mwanza in Tanzania where he is working with Tim and Rachel Monger, supporting Emmanuel International. Learn more about Julian's experience when wax moth and snakes do invade.

Trisha Marlow visited Brong Ahafo in Ghana where she continues to raise beekeeping knowledge and standards. 50 delegates attended three day workshop including 12 beekeepers from our Cashew Farmers Project.

David and Margery Blower visited Uyogo Beekeepers in the Tabora region of Tanzania. Dave set out to help beekeepers in the village improve their income from hive products and to provide training to pass on the knowledge to 200 other families in the community.

Earlier this month, Neil Brent, Kath Hayward and Brian Durk  travelled to Taninahun, Barri Chefdom, Pujehun District, Sierra Leone, where they spent 18 days working with Rory's Well to support a nutrition programme in five training villages.
  • Sixteen hives were built with the assistance of a local carpenter, with the longer-term aim that each beekeeper should be able to make and repair their hives.
  • Twenty-six bee suits were made with the assistance of a local tailor, with the active participation of the beekeepers who will then be able to make and repair their own suits.
  • The team set up a processing centre to enable honey and wax processing, value added products including moisturising cream and beauty products from wax. To learn more click here
In 2018, we need to raise £5613 to support five villages in Sierra Leone.  With your help we can continue our work helping these communities build the livelihoods they need to support their families.
