Free Desk Available!
An executive office desk is available and would like to find a new home as soon as possible. It comes apart in two independent desk sections (2' x 6' and 3' x 6') and a bridge. Join Danielle McCleland, Executive Director of BCT Management, Inc. the private non-profit which manages the Buskirk-Chumley Theater for a brief but vigorous program where we will: find the compelling story at the heart of your event or organization, develop talking points to share with all of your team members ,establish a template press release that will eliminate the blank page jitters and practice pitching a story to a potential media outlet. Participants will leave the program with confidence in their ability to sell their event to potential donors/sponsors audiences and news outlets.

Are you planning a big fundraiser, your first ever multi-venue festival, a show that you've been dreaming up for the last five years? Have you just now recovered from the nightmare of putting together some difficult event that left you feeling like you'll never do it again? Don't despair. There are easily employable methods and techniques that can help make the process of putting on your show be just as successful as the end result. Wouldn't it be amazing if you felt confident in: creating a master contact list, organizing your preparation tasks into easily accomplish-able timeliness, formalizing a production schedule for rehearsals and day of event and engaging others in both the idea and the timeline. The show must go on but wouldn't it be amazing if putting it together felt just as good for the participants as it does for the audience or guests who attend? You could be the hero who makes that happen. This seminar will prepare you to do so.

Description: Serving on a nonprofit organization's volunteer board of directors can be one of the great pleasures of your life or a study in frustration. When you're well matched, serving on a board can be immensely rewarding, both personally and professionally.

Community Foundation Receives $800,000 gift, largest in its history.
Prior to her death in December 2016, Judith "Judy" Feldpausch created a lasting legacy through a planned gift to endow funds that would benefit seven local Monroe County nonprofits. With this gift, the Community Foundation has established the Judith B. Feldpausch Fund, which will provide annual grants in perpetuity to Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, the Monroe County Humane Association, People and Animal Learning Services (PALS), American Red Cross services benefiting Monroe County, The Salvation Army – Bloomington, and Volunteers in Medicine.

Trent Deckard Joins the United Way of Monroe County
United Way of Monroe County welcomes Trent Deckard as Resource Development Director. Deckard will lead donor relations and fundraising to support United Way’s focus of helping people learn more, earn more, and lead safer and healthier lives.

He brings over 10 years of experience in public service, fundraising, higher education, communications, volunteer management, executive leadership, and community outreach.

A Monroe County native, Trent attended Ball State for his Bachelors degree and Indiana University for a Masters in Applied Communications.He received the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce "10 Under 40" Award in 2017 and also has recently received numerous public speaking and communications recognitions. Community Foundation Announces $560,000 in grant initiatives
The Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County has announced that it is awarding $560,000 in competitive and proactive grants this year to local organizations. The grant recipients were honored at a special event on Thursday, January 11 at Hoosier Energy.

Thirteen nonprofit organizations have received Community Impact Grants, a competitive granting initiative totaling more than $270,000. The Community Impact Funding Initiative is co-funded by the Community Foundation and Smithville Charitable Foundation. The Community Foundation also announced that it is distributing $290,000 in proactive grants this fiscal year to serve Monroe County. The read more click HERE.

Monroe County Democratic Party, Executive Director (Part-Time)

MCDP is seeking a part-time Executive Director to manage the day-to- day operations of the organization. The Director will be responsible for carrying out the organization’s fundraising goals, assisting Party officers and Deputy chairs in executing the Party’s strategic objectives, coordinating activities for MCDP’s Democracy Lab (a multi-organization coordinating body housed with MCDP headquarters), and managing a team of interns and volunteers.

Required Qualifications: The Executive Director must have a passion for political engagement and a commitment to the ideals of the Democratic Party. The ED must have more than two years of experience in managing political campaigns or working for political organizations aligned with the Democratic Party.The director must have strong written and oral communications skills as well as the ability to tactfully and respectfully interact with a broad array of individuals and organizations. Further, the director must be able to work independently, organize and prioritize tasks and projects, and meet routine deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge of local, state, and national politics, an experience developing and managing budgets, and a familiarity with Nation Builder and VAN (Voter Activation Network).
Salary: Depending on Experience // Commitment: ~25 hours/week
