The 2018 season will have ten races making up the 2CVParts.com Championship, celebrating its 30th year and 70 years of the Citroen 2CV. At five circuits around the country, there will be eight sprints and a two-hour enduro, finishing with the 29th running of the unique Liqui Moly 2CV 24 Hour race.
The action starts at the beautiful and challenging Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire on 14/15 April: two sprints, then a two-hour enduro, to give everyone experience of driver changes.
Following that, we have three double-headers, each with two sprints: we are on the hectic Indy circuit at Brands on 12/13 May, then at Oulton Park on 23 June and back to Donington on 21 July.
The final race of the Championship is the Liqui Moly 24 Hour at what many say is the UK's most welcoming circuit, Snetterton, over the weekend of 17/18/19 August.
For those who fancy the Spa-Francorchamps Formula 1 circuit, our club has been invited again to race in the 2CV 24 Hour event there, run probably over the weekend of 6/7 October. Race entry forms are available at www.2cvracing.org.uk Early bird entries qualify for the special £1950 entry fee, by paying £100 deposit per car, must be made by March 1. Alec also keeps a list of cars for sale or hire and of race seats available. A typical cost for a seat in the 24 Hr is £1300 as one of four drivers.

Jon Davis 1950 - 2017
A great and very knowledgeable 2CV enthusiast, Jon raced with the Club from 2000, with his last race being Spa this year. In 2014 and 2016 he was in the driving team of the winning car of the 24 Hr. On his way back from a short visit to France and Belgium he became ill and died suddenly in December . He will be much missed by all his family, friends and Club members.

Prompts for action in January
Dust off your 2CV race car and get the prep underway. Read the updated tech rules on the website. One key change is that foam filters, after a series of fires, are no longer allowed – you will need to fit a paper or cotton filter. Seat sub-frames are now allowed, subject to use of approved steel or ally, and bolts. There is also a new rule about seat position. Check 2018 tech rules on the website.
- The 2CV racing season starts with a cracking three-race weekend at Cadwell Park, April 14-15. So get your entry in soonest. Watch the Forum on our website for the Championship entry form from Katy.
- The 28th running of the Liqui Moly 2CV 24 Hour race will be over the weekend of August 17-19. Get your early bird entry deposit, £100, in by the end of February to qualify for the special early entry fee of £1950, total.

The Race Cars Out of Retirement fund is active again for 2018. It is to encourage cars which have not been seen out racing for a few years to get sorted and out racing again. If you have a 'retired race car' and are wary of the costs of re-commissioning it for racing, the Club can help you with some components in return for your season entry. Keeping your car current helps maintain its value. We shall get a lot of promo with the Top Gear 2CV feature coming up shortly, now is a

2CV racers on BBC Top Gear
Back in July, several Cub members were invited to help stage a mock race at the Croix circuit in France for the Top Gear cameras. Presenters Matt Le Blanc and Chris Harris did a super job in their camera-laden car. The racing will be part of a feature celebrating 70 years of the Citroen 2CV. It should be shown sometime between January and March. As soon as we have the date we will whizz out an email.
