Happy New Year!

To those who volunteered in 2017, thank you SO much! We on-boarded a lot of new people for hosting and events this year and it's been great meeting all the new as well as returning faces of our unstoppable volunteer force!

We relied on over 14,000 hours of volunteer labor to maintain our center, operate our fundraisers and events, supervise our commitees and board of directors and supervise our volunteer program, among other duties.
The Diversity Center is ready to kick off the start of a great year with projects and programs tailored to the needs of the LGBTQA+ community. Whether you were with us last year or you're interested in joining us this year, check out the volunteer opportunities coming up this month!
Back-to-School LGBTQA+ Resources
As students return from winter break, the Youth Program will be distributing packets of youth-specific LGBTQA+ resources to counselors and administrators across the Santa Cruz County School Districts. We're seeking volunteers to help assemble packets! Click here to learn more and sign up!
Sign of the Times Giveaway
We've partnered with the Santa Cruz Downtown Association to give away 25 new gender-inclusive restroom signs to downtown businesses with single-stall restrooms in accordance with California's AB 1732 (which states all commercial single-stall restrooms must be all-gender).

If you want to volunteer as a business survey conductor or as a sign courier, sign up here!

Have a Seat at our Table!

We will be tabling and providing information and material to the community at the Women's March in Santa Cruz, January 20th. To sign up to table with us at the event, or to learn more, click here!

Serve the LGBTQA+ community directly by being a Diversity Center Host!

Volunteer Hosts are the face of our organization! They greet all our visitors and callers and connect them to resources we and other non-profits have to offer. For a full description of the role of a host, visit our open positions page here.
Get WISE to our 60+ Program!
We're seeking an energetic administrative assistant for W.I.S.E. (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education), a six week curriculum-based health promotion program that helps older adults increase their knowledge and awareness of issues related to health and the aging process. Every Saturday morning from January 27th to March 3rd. Interested applicants please email volunteers@diversitycenter.org to sign up!
Do you love kids...and drag?
If so, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity! Partnering with Santa Cruz Public Libraries, we are seeking a volunteer who can read stories to children once or twice a month at participating SCPL branches. Help us show kids it's okay to be different, wonderful to be glamorous, and fun to read! To learn more, see the opportunity description here.
Want to volunteer but don't know where you fit?

Let us know! We have new and different opportunities popping up all the time!
