New Sea Grant Projects Funded

Ohio Sea Grant announced its new cycle of research funding that will start February 2018. Research topics include fisheries, pharmaceuticals, tourism and harmful algal blooms. Read a preview of two of the seven new projects.

iEvolving Science Education

A new education partnership brings cutting-edge curriculum to Northwest Ohio Schools. The program called iEvolve employs a citizen-science approach that teaches students how to conduct reliable research that educates them, helps their communities and serves scientists across the globe.

Stone Lab Winter Program February 19

Another year brings another exciting Stone Lab Winter Program. This year will feature keynote speaker Dr. Mazeika Sullivan, Director of Wilma H. Shiermeier Olentangy River Wetland Research Park. The evening starts at 7:00 and is open to all.

 

Donor Spotlight Dr. Larry Capitini

Larry Capitini’s career has spanned over 40 years and 4 different continents. No matter where his education or career took him, he always remained grateful for the experiences and opportunities he received from The Ohio State University.

Thanks to his generous estate planning donations, which includes to Stone Lab, Dr. Capitini will continue to open doors for future generations of scientists.
