Establishing sustainable loving homes for orphans in East Africa that develop children to reach their full potential.

Lulwanda Celebrates Christmas

The Lulwanda Children's Home family celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ with decorations, Christmas gifts, a special meal, a nativity play, dances, and songs. It was a very exciting time. Thank you to everyone who donated for the Christmas gifts. The main hall, where the celebration was held, was a little dark and the photos didn't turn out well, so we had the children recreate the nativity and dance outside. They didn't mind because it was so much fun.

The oldest children are back in their villages now, reconnecting with relatives; the youngest ones remain at Lulwanda. Everyone will be back together in early January to continue the break until the new school year begins in February.

Lulwanda has been without power for almost 2 months now and is trying to manage on solar power alone. Please pray the Ugandan power company will remedy the situation soon by replacing a broken transformer.  We appreciate your prayers for this and for the safety of the children while in the villages.

More Children Coming Soon

The government authorities have given us a long list of vulnerable children who need to be rescued.  We have carried out the necessary investigations and have so far identified 7 to be true orphans. We hope to verify another 8 before the end of the year, bringing to 15 the number of children who might join Lulwanda very soon! Most of these children are from the surrounding villages but it is possible we will receive one or two children who will age out of St Kizito's Babies Home.

Rescuing orphans is at the heart of Grace International Children's Foundation, so this is very exciting! Thank you for your generous donations and prayer support which make it possible for us to give these needy children hope for the future.

We also have to renew the court orders for many of the children in our care. Renewal is required every three years for each child.

Donations to help cover the travel, medical and court costs of bringing in the new children (as well as renewing court orders for existing children) would be greatly appreciated.

Preschool Graduation

Back Row- Mary N, Ketty, Pricilla, Grace M, Milton, Kevin
Front Row- Patricia and Ian

Lulwanda has an excellent, fully equipped preschool which serves our young ones in addition to children from the neighboring community. This semester eight of our children graduated, and they will attend Primary 1 at Lulwanda Primary School in February.
Ketty, rescued one year ago, receives her diploma and is congratulated by
Lulwanda Administrator, Paul and LPS Headmaster, William.

End of School Year Field Trips

Our children had an opportunity to tour Jinja town, about 2 hours from Lulwanda, where they visited the source of Nile River and some factories. The boat trip on the Nile is always a favorite excursion. The tour included all the Lulwanda Primary School children and some Secondary school children who were already home  on vacation. They were accompanied by their teachers and the dorm mother.

Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!!

Thank you for your support.  God bless you.
