January Member Meeting on UNO Campus
Our monthly membership meeting will be held at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center (CEC) on the UNO campus, Wednesday, January 24th, 7:00-8:30 pm in the Lower Commons Lounge. Check out the CEC web page of maps, directions, and guides for driving, walking, biking, and taking public transit to the location - how very multimodal! Parking is free for meeting attendees. Join us as we kick off the new year!
Apply for Mode Shift Omaha Membership & Volunteer Coordinator Position
Cam Bexten, our current Membership & Volunteer Coordinator, has stepped into a new role at her non-Mode Shift job, so we are looking for a new, fantastic person to play a critical role in supporting existing Mode Shift Omaha programs and projects. See position information here- we will begin reviewing applications February 10.
Shifting into Snow Season
The Omaha Municipal Code states that it shall be the duty of the occupant, as well as the duty of the owner, of any lot or land or real estate in the city, to clear all ice and snow from the sidewalks adjoining the said lot, land, or real estate within 24 hours after the city has declared that snow removal operations on the city’s major streets are complete. Our goal this winter is to bring more awareness to the city code and ensure that people can walk safely to their destinations in the winter. Check out our website for ways you can take action, including downloading and printing cards you can give your neighbors to thank them for shoveling or ask them to shovel.
