Hey Alliance community! You are the first to receive, hot off the digital presses, the link to our new Youth Media magazine, THE ISSUE.

We like to say its an  "arts + culture magazine designed to inspire a future where we all belong

THE ISSUE is a model of intergenerational collaboration, just like our national Youth Media program. Inside THE ISSUE you will find a group of extraordinary and diverse essays, art pieces, poems, articles, photographs, interviews, diary entries, illustrations, a zine within a zine, and other reflections of unbounded creativity -- made, curated, designed and edited by folks who range in age from 17 - 57 (give or take). Myah Overstreet, our 20-year old Editor in Chief says:

“The Issue is very special to me because it represents everything that I’ve ever wanted to do in my life so far: tell stories and create. I believe that storytelling has the power to influence change, whether tiny or monumental. So when the opportunity came to showcase the stories and experiences of people across the nation, it felt like a dream come true."

Centered on the theme “Dear Diary”, the first issue is deeply personal and full of differing perspectives and complex emotions. The art throughout it is meant to feel like it’s ripped out of diaries, sketch pads, or scrapbooks. It’s full of color and should catch your eye from across the room. Once you’ve picked it up, we hope you you won’t want to put it down.

If the future is being written by these young people, we are in good hands.

Welcome to the first issue of THE ISSUE. We couldn't be more excited to share this work with you.
