Bread and Baking Returning January 13th

There was no bread at the Market last Saturday from either Vitold Kreutzer or Tan's Artisan Bakery. That situation will be remedied this Saturday Jan. 13th. Tan Ho and his wife will be back with their usual table full of breads and baking, AND Chaim Gilad will return with Vitold's breads and treats. Vitold's baking should be at the Market regularly for several weeks now until Vitold takes a break for a couple of weeks in February to go to Australia for a course. Last we heard, Vitold was still looking for someone to take over his baking business.

FREE Puppet Show and Live Music Jan. 13th

This Saturday the Village Market features entertainments for both children and adults. For children age 3 and up there will be a free performance of a puppet show of "Squirrel's Winter Gift" by puppet-master Dianne Goldsmith, at 10:30 am in the TWS kindergarten. Duration about 20 minutes.

And starting about 9 or 9:30 am, folksinger Cameron Birnie will be performing on the Village Market stage, by the rainbow wall. Photo above is from the second last time Cameron played, in Nov. 2017.

Jim, Peter, Linda, Earth Haven, Mayda, Marie

A lot of farmers canceled out at the last moment last Saturday due to the extreme cold and needing to stay home to keep a close watch on their animals. Jim Giffen, Peter Seenath, Linda Kapeleris (Country Meadows) and Earth Haven farm are among the farmers expected to return this Saturday.

Those farmers who made it here in spite of the extreme cold last Saturday include Mike Lanigan, Jinn and Simon (for Henk Verhoeven) and Secret Lands Farm. And they're expected back this week and every week as well.

Mayda and Jack Baghboudrian, cafe vendors, were also taking a break last Saturday but expect to return Jan. 13th. Allergy whisperer Marie Herrell is scheduled to be at the Market this Saturday.

Raw Milk Injunction Shuts Down Coop Jan 5

The raw milk is no longer flowing from Glencolton Farms to members of the Our Farm Our Food coop since Justice Sutherland granted a permanent injunction against its continued distribution in the Regions of York, Peel and Simcoe, on January 5th. Read all about it on The Bovine.
