A Word From Dr. A

We are finishing up our first week back to school after the Christmas break and hope your family is settling back into the school routine! Isn't it amazing how easily we can shift into vacation mode, but how difficult it is to shift back into work mode! I hope you were able to take advantage of the Parent Teacher Conference times today to reconnect with your child's teachers.  If you weren't able to schedule an appointment, but would like to talk with faculty or administration, we will make time to discuss anything you'd like - we want the communication to be ongoing, not just once a semester!

I am excited to announce some very special guests and events coming up here on the Hill next month! As part of our STEAM emphasis, we have invited Colonel Jeffrey N. Williams, an astronaut who has spent 534 days in space on various space missions on the International Space Station!   He will join us on Friday, February 2 in several secondary school science classes and also in a general session for grades 1-12. We will have a number of extra seats available for parents to join our school assembly. Scroll through this email for more details and RSVP if you would like to attend.

Another special guest coming to the Hill is Christian songwriter and artist, Steve Green, who will be doing a fundraising benefit concert for our very own KHCS choir on Saturday, February 10.  The choir has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall this summer with select choirs from other states.  The proceeds of this concert will help defray some of the costs associated with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our choir. Please see the information below about this benefit concert and click on the "Ticket Sales" button for more details and to purchase tickets. VIP tickets are available for $65 and general admission tickets are available for $49. This is a great opportunity for our KHCS family and our community.

Have a great weekend and enjoy Monday off in honor of Atlanta's own Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We have much to be thankful for because of his courage to stand up and speak up against injustice. That's a legacy we can all follow to make a difference in our community and world for Christ!

Proclaiming Him,
Dr. A
