Primary
A Note from the Primary Head
It felt good to see the pupils again this morning. Many of them were wearing magnificent golden crowns, shining so much that they made us forget the rain. We celebrated this first day back at school by tasting delicious kings’ cakes.

I went around each class (not to steal any cake - I promise!) to wish everyone a happy new year. It gives me great pleasure to wish you and your families the same on behalf of the entire French Section team - all the very best for 2018 to you and yours.

#taipeirocks
Thanks to all GS-CM2 students and parents who took the trouble to hide their Taipei Rock over the Christmas holidays and especially to those who took the trouble to upload photos of the new location to https://taipeirocks.com/

The adventure continues with children from TES and elsewhere hunting, finding, photographing and re-hiding the rocks. If you haven’t had the chance to hide your child’s rock with them yet, there is no deadline - you can still do so. If you experience any difficulty uploading photos to the website, please just email them to us directly at taipeirocks@tes.tp.edu.tw

There is more information on the letter sent home with the rocks before the holidays. Read it here.

PS and MS classes will work on the project during the second semester.

Private lessons
The TES Director of Educational Services has asked us to inform parents that tutors not in the employ of TES are not permitted to teach on TES grounds.

New classroom
The former Parents Lounge was transformed into a fully equipped working classroom during the Christmas holidays and is no longer available as a meeting space for parents.  While we do regret any inconvenience caused, we are sure you understand the importance of ensuring the maximum number of quality teaching and learning spaces for our students.
Influenza B
A number of cases of influenza B were reported last week in the British and German Sections. The TES Director of Educational Services, Kerry Nockolds, calls on parents to be on the alert for symptoms. For more information, please read his letter here.
