Students in Grades 7 through 12 will be counting the days until their mid-year exams which start Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Whether because they're excited to demonstrate just how much they've learned this year, or whether it's the three days of dress down and heading home at 11:30am, the Upper School students are eagerly anticipating the special week.
The schedule for the exams has been finalized and will be published on Monday, January 15, 2018.
With the early dismissal, there will be no homework club in the afternoons, but Lower School schedules and dress code remain unchanged: full school days and regularly scheduled After School Care on Monday through Thursday.
Basketball
There will be two basketball games that week (home game Tuesday at 5:30pm, and away game in Manchester on Wednesday at 3:30pm). There will a study hall on Wednesday for Basketball players from 11:30am to 2:00pm for players who choose to stay on campus. Players who leave campus must notify their coach beforehand and return to campus by 2:00pm when the van departs.
3rd Time's a Charm?
This winter's wild weather has been the cause of not one but two postponements of the kickoff for the LCA Snowsports Program at Cannon Mountain this year. Originally scheduled to begin on Friday, January 5, 2018, the "bomb cyclone" and subzero arctic air kept LCA (and many others) indoors.
Today, just a week later, with temperatures expected to be well above freezing, more than an inch of rain is expected to fall: yes, indeed, it has put a damper on our plans.
Thankfully, we are able to reschedule the two days to March 9th and March 16th and enjoy a regular day of classes on campus today--complete with dress down, physical education classes, and after school care.
Although changes to any schedule can cause headaches, we're confident that keeping students (and chaperones) warm and dry now will have a healthful influence in the days and weeks to come...and next week's forecast looks perfect for hitting the slopes!
Pizza Thursday is here!
In January, February and March 2018, the ever-popular Pizza Cafe will happen during Thursday lunches instead of Fridays due to the Cannon Mountain Snowsports program.
