Save the date for a Montgomery Anniversary Party on

Thursday, January 25th from 4:30-7:00pm

at 123 S. Broad Street, 28th Floor, Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads, Philadelphia

Join us to celebrate our partners who are home from juvenile life without parole sentences, and all the successes they have achieved, since the US Supreme Court decided Montgomery v. Louisiana 2 years ago
On January 25, 2016, the US Supreme Court decided Montgomery v. Louisiana, making retroactive its earlier decision in Miller v. Alabama that it is unconstitutional to sentence youth to life in prison without the possibility of parole in a mandatory way. This created the opportunity for 500 individuals sentenced, as children, in Pennsylvania, to be resentenced and potentially released.

Over 70 so-called "juvenile lifers" have come home to Philadelphia because of this decision. YSRP is honored to know and work alongside them.

Please join us to celebrate the new beginnings for so many of our partners, to learn more about our work, and be together in community. We hope you'll join us to celebrate.

Wishing you a bright and justice-filled 2018,
The YSRP Team
