What it means to be an Inspire Support Worker
Last week we mentioned in our weekly newsletter how important it is to us that our Support Workers have the same values as Inspire; but also how the work they carry out is a two way process.
Bearing that in mind this is what one of our Support workers had this to say:
"My name is Kathleen and I've been a support worker for Inspire now for 18 months, and what can I say - I absolutely love it. Both I and my clients have become so close over these past 18 months they are all like family, and I care about them all dearly. We have such lovely times together; whether it's going out shopping, to nice cafes, garden centres, walks, watching movies together or working alongside each other doing voluntary work, it's just great. I also get such nice feed back from my client's families when they say things like 'I know they are well looked after and cared for when they are with you' and that they 'love seeing them smile when they mention my name' and that they look forward to my visits. It really does mean the world hearing these comments as I also look forward to seeing them as much they do me".
