"Passing Resolutions - How Your Community Can Help Influence the Passage of Medical Aid in Dying"
12:15-2:00
William K. Sanford Town Library (Colonie)
629 Albany Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12211
You've no doubt heard the old adage that "all politics is local". We are working with Compassion & Choices NY on a new initiative that is based on just that principle. The focus is on getting city and county resolutions passed in support of the pending legislation. We have learned from our friends in California, Colorado, and DC just how helpful these resolutions can be and how powerful it is for state legislators to hear from local municipalities.
At our meeting on Monday, Amanda Cavanaugh (Campaign Organizer for Compassion & Choices NY and Advocacy Coordinator for Death with Dignity-Albany) will share a toolkit with step-by-step instructions on how to go about passing these types of resolutions.
Join us to hear about this new initiative in working for the passage of the Medical Aid in Dying Act in New York!
