January Meeting
Happy New Year, neighbors! We're kicking off 2018 with our first meeting at 7PM on Tuesday, January 16 at Red Brick Brewery (2323 Defoor Hills Rd). Join us for a beer (or if you're doing the Whole 30, you can drink your virgin vodka on the rocks!) to learn about plans for the year, as well as vote on the 2018 budget. Remember, you must be a member of UHNA to vote! You can become a member at the meeting or by clicking the link above. Unless you already did, EVERYONE is due to renew for 2018, as our membership runs on a calendar year basis. This is a great way to show your support for Underwood Hills.

2018 Membership Drive
Underwood Hills membership runs on the calendar year, which means unless you renewed or joined in the last month, EVERYONE is due to renew for 2018. Your voluntary annual dues of $30 for a family or $15 for an individual help fund our meetings, social events, communications and enable us to effectively advocate on behalf of the neighborhood when issues arise. That's right, only $30 or $15 per year... you can't even buy one cup of decent coffee per month for that! Membership is open to ALL residents of Underwood Hills, whether you own or rent. UHNA Sponsorship... great for business!
Sponsorship is a very important part of our association, and it's also great for your business! The Underwood Hills Neighborhood Association is a volunteer run 501(c)(4) non-profit with a limited budget. The financial support of our sponsors makes what we do possible, from putting on fun social events to create community among our neighbors to advocating for the neighborhood on traffic, crime, development and other issues.
In a survey of our neighbors, 92% said UHNA sponsorship influence their buying decisions and 93% preferred hearing from UHNA sponsors at least quarterly with coupons, promotions and/or a description of the business, ownership and products or services. Make that buying power work for you!

APD Zone 2 Christmas Eve Dinner
Along with other Zone 2 neighborhoods, Underwood Hills sponsored a Christmas Eve Dinner for the officers and staff who were working that evening. DAS BBQ catered the dinner, and the officers were very appreciative!

UHERO
We are making great progress in forming our Underwood Hills Emergency Response Operation team and will begin having training sessions in January. Our UHERO team is an effort to provide our wonderful neighborhood with help in case of a major disaster that would delay the arrival of first responders from the City of Atlanta (hurricane, tornado, etc.). The training will also provide neighbors with the knowledge and skills to help their own families in daily life emergencies.
If you are interested in joining our team, please complete this questionnaire and return it to Cynthia Williams. All training is free. Priority will be given to members of the Underwood Hills Neighborhood Association.

Winter Play Group Events
Play Group is looking for families to host indoor play dates during the winter on Thursdays from 3:30-5:00. Do you have a basement or a play room or a large living room that can handle a few kids? Do you want to connect with other families in the neighborhood? Email Hannah Skinner to stay informed of the play dates or to volunteer your space.
The first Play Group of 2018 will be held at the McClelland home - 1749 Marvin St - from 3:45-5:15 on Thursday, January 11.
