Malaria Centre 20th anniversary

This month has a shorter edition of our newsletter where we celebrate 2018 as the year of our 20th anniversary.

We have produced a special anniversary edition of our logo - above, if you didn't notice ;) - and we will be releasing anniversary content throughout the year on our website and on Twitter (#MalariaCentre20).

We will also be running a number of events this year, including our first PhD showcase event in February and our retreat in April. You can find out more information on these below and in future newsletters, or on our website.

We look forward to celebrating with you!

2. Events

Malaria Centre events and activities

The Malaria Centre helps to organise, support and advertise seminars and activities that would be of interest our members.

Coming up:

Malaria Centre PhD showcase event

On 13 February, the Malaria Centre will be hosting our first PhD Showcase Event, which is intended to celebrate the diversity and relevance of current malaria research at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

This Showcase Event gives you the opportunity to share your research across the Centre and build relationships with new and existing PhD students. We hope the experience of presenting your work to a multidisciplinary audience of staff and students will also help hone your presentation and networking skills, and support you in your preparation for your future career.

Register Applications should be submitted by 21 January. To apply, please use this 'Register' link, where you can also find more information.

Eligibility All PhD students at LSHTM whose research is relevant to malaria and its control are welcome to present – that’s it!

Malaria Centre retreat

The annual Malaria Centre retreat will be 10-11 April. The retreat this year will be held at Clare College in Cambridge.

We will release more information, including how to register, soon. We look forward to seeing you there - don't forget to save the date!

We aim to keep you up to date by regularly posting event news on the Centre’s website, so don’t forget to keep checking back with us.
