This Coming Weekend!
Choose from multiple clinics on all the skills and techniques you need to get out on ice - from basic skills, to dry-tooling, to glacier travel techniques.
There will be a Leave No Trace clinic Saturday, location will be posted soon.
In addition to the daily climbing activities, there's some events Friday and Saturday night as well:
Friday night, participate in a bouldering clinic and climb some dry ice routes at BC's Climbing Gym in New Paltz starting at 6pm.
Saturday night there will be a slide show presented by Furnace Industires, Generation Dry. Come discover what dry-tooling is through world class athletes and astonishing routes all over the Alps, including a historical route on the North Face of the Drus.
Saturday, January 27th, 8pm Rock and Snow After the slideshow, join everyone at Huckleberry's New Paltz to share stories and meet new friends. Participants of the Ice Festival get their first beer compliments of Rock and Snow!
Demo gear will be located at Rock and Snow - so you can try out the latest harnesses, ice tools, boots, crampons, and clothing from the best companies. You know them - Black Diamond, Petzl, La Sportiva, Outdoor Research, and others.
Rates are $150 per person per event - Slide shows are free!

Glacier Travel & Crevasse Rescue
Looking to climb Mount Rainier, the Cascades, Denali or in other glaciated areas? Brush up on your glacier travel skills. We'll cover methods for tying-in, crampons and ice axe skills, and hauling systems and crevasse rescue skills.
Limited to 12 participant on a 6:1 climber-to-guide ratio. Limited technical equipment provided, see the gear list for what you will be expected to have.

Come out and visit the newly opened BC's Climbing Gym in New Paltz for a bouldering clinic and climb some dry ice routes.

New to ice climbing, never ice climbed before? We will introduce you to the techniques needed to ice climb.
