News from my garden... and elsewhere

Old Gardeners

What do they do? What can they offer? Passing the baton of the love of the earth to the next generation. This issue of Garden Enthusiasm reconnects with you, while addressing change, in life, in gardening, in online activity.
Moving at the speed of light, the internet changes.

We, however, are more organic. Like our gardens we are growing, decaying, returning, and the evolving change can be sad, but also beautiful.

For those interested in my lost year... 2017 saw few postings in both the blog and the sites, much less social media interaction, and a general recalibration of life.
Read about it here.

The changes in my real life garden were many in 2017. We cut down dead trees, pruned back quite a lot of overgrowth that had accumulated in this maturing garden. The hard work caused some injuries, which will inspire future blogposts on prevention, etc.

Seed Swap Day falls in January. This is one post that I had written and updated from my time on Squidoo. Get plans to participate next year. You might find it fun!

Apps and Stuff

I wanted to tell my friends about new apps I found, but I hadn't really got the hang of them yet
Trello was one of these. So despite my newbie status, I just share that it looks promising. I am still using Evernote and upgraded to premium.

If you keep up with such things, you know PicMonkey went to a premium model. I was already paying for it, although I don't utilize it very much. This year will be a trial period for this type of investment. Midpoint I hope to report my reviews of such services.

The Change Ahead

What's next for Ilona's Garden and the blog, Ilona's Garden Journal?
I have updated the site to make past articles more accessible, while putting new topics up front, too.
The Blog of Garden Posts

I decided that there are plenty of sites that provide trends, plant info, etc. I will be concentrating on classic gardening and opinion making; along with more "how-to". My years of gardening experience are my site's asset.

Upcoming topics will include tips on tools, a recipe reflecting my taste and interest that month, and timely interest driven links.

February Topics

Have you seen these?
This is prime seed starting month.
It can be an economical and adventurous way to obtain plants. You are able to try things that would otherwise be unavailable or too costly.
