When Ken walked into the arena, his face lit up.

For the first time, Ken was at Bell MTS Place. The crowd was buzzing with anticipation and he could smell the popcorn, the hotdogs, and the cool ice. Before that day, he had only ever cheered on his favourite teams from home, watching on TV.

Ken is 51 years old, supported by St.Amant, and has a passion for sports, but it wasn’t until today that he could experience his passion in real life. Your support purchased accessible season tickets to our very own Manitoba Moose helping Ken, and many others, experience the joy of cheering on their home team in person. Because of your generosity, Ken got to be part of the crowd and realize one of his dreams.

Ken’s story is just one of many that you made happen in 2017. Whether it’s financial support for sports events, tuition fees, custom bikes, or accessible vans – your gift is empowering people like Ken, Jessica, and many others with disabilities to live meaningful lives. Thank you!

“Watching TV one day we saw a request for volunteers for gift wrapping…and decided this was a great opportunity to help out our neighborhood and community,” said Claudette who volunteered with her sister, adding that she has family members who have been supported by St.Amant.

This was Claudette’s second year volunteering and said she keeps coming back because she feels part of a community. She said, “Volunteering lets us make new friends and meet up with [other] friends that volunteer.”

Since the first year of Gift Wrap and Coat Check in 2010, volunteers have helped raise over $170,000! This year alone, over 100 volunteers spent 276 hours wrapping gifts for St.Amant at St. Vital Centre. Thank you to all of the volunteers and everyone who brought your gifts to be wrapped!

More than 100 children and adults will go to camp this summer, thanks to your support at the St.Amant Party. You helped raise over $60,000 for camping and experiences in nature.
