Dear Praying Friends,


Thank you for your continued prayers for us. We thank God for a great end to 2017 and a great start to the new year. I'll try to get some pictures out to you in the coming days and bring you up to speed on what God is doing in and around us. 

Today we are flying to Cusco (1 hour flight) to find and purchase a reliable 4x4 vehicle. We thank God for bringing all the details together over the past few months. He helped us through the process of getting our visas which allowed us to open up a bank account here in Peru. He provided funds to purchase the vehicle and a means to wire the money to our account. He helped me get my Peruvian driver's license (Kelly will be working on that in the next few months). Through the challenges and details of these processes he provided opportunities to share the Gospel. He has given us reliable contacts in Cusco that can help with the purchase.

Please pray that God would give us clear disciple-making opportunities along the way. Pray that God would clearly direct us to the right vehicle and help with the purchasing details. I have found several options online. The plan at this point is for Kelly and the girls to fly back to Puerto Maldonado in the early part of next week. I'll plan to get an early start the following day and drive from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado with a friend from the church in Puerto Maldonado. We appreciate your prayers for our travels. The city of Cusco is 11,150 feet above sea level. There are a lot of winding, mountain roads between Cusco and Puerto Maldonado which is 600 feet above sea level. It is about an 8 hour drive.
